Zell am Ziller is the first gateway to the stunning skiing area “Zillertal Arena” – the largest skiing area of the Zillertal valley. 143 kilometres of slopes and 52 state-of-the-art lifts, at an elevation between 1,300 metres and 2,505 metres, fascinate our guests from the beginning of December until Easter. The pleasant little skiing area Gerlosstein, situated above the hamlet of Hainzenberg, is part of the Zillertal Arena lift association. Due to its characteristics, it is the perfect skiing area for families. It has 12.7 kilometres of slopes, there are no crowded runs and rarely queuing times.
Enjoy the winter to the fullest on the longest natural toboggan run, cross-country ski runs and winter hiking trails. Experience high-level winter fun in the top ski resort "Zillertal Arena" in Zell im Zillertal. This beautiful village lies 580m above sea-level, while the Zillertal Arena offers 166km of runs and 49 lifts between 1.300m and 2.505m altitude - from December to Easter!

Zell am Ziller has always been on an important transit route between Italy and Salzburg (since 1428 at least) - it's safe to say travellers are always welcome here. Another tradition is the "Gauder Fest", Austria's oldest spring festival, which takes place annualy on the first weekend of May.
In summer, the "ArenaFUNten Club" offers leisure activites for children, "Genuss Aktiv" for adults. Zell am Ziller also offers a climbing area on Gerlosstein and the "Arena Coaster", a rollercoaster down the mountain! All of this certainly guarantees an extra portion of fun.
Outdoor activities include walking, mountaineering, mountain biking, paragliding, swimming, etc. The Freizeitpark, or recretion park, in Zell offers you some exiting alternatives to skiing and snowboarding: an ice rink can be used for ice skating, curling and ice hockey, while there are also 4 lanes of bowling and tennis courts (indoors and outdoors!). The indoor courts in can be used in the winter and late at night, while the four outdoor courts also include a tennis wall and can be used in summer.
Covering an are of more than 45.000 square metres, the Freitzeitpark has something to offer for everybody: there's also minigolf, volleyball, street soccer, football, and of course the fantastic outdoor pool with slides, whirlstreams, sports pool, and much more!
